The Antique and Classic Boat Society (ACBS) is a 6,000+ member family international organization. Its mission is to bring together people with a common interest in historic, antique and classic boats for the purpose of sharing information, experiences and ideas. It is a primary focus for each of its members to protect the heritage of boating by promoting the preservation and the restoration of antique and classic boats. Our international organization inspires and supports each of its 55 Chapters in our efforts to have quality boat shows and related events which will educate our membership and the general public concerning these precious gifts of our past. Standards for classifying boats, conducting boat shows, and judging those shows is an evolving part of our education.
The South Tahoe Wooden Boat Classic, a Vintage Boat Show for Charity is the Antique and Classic Boat Society, Inc., Northern California/Lake Tahoe Chapter's only ACBS-judged boat show. The 2011 boat show will display 70 antique and classic boats and gift $12,250 to local charities.
